13 ways to read body language

Scientists once said that body language accounts for 80% of the message we try to tell others and that what we actually say is only 20%. Body language definitely plays an important role in communication.

Here I have a list of 13  body language and what they generally mean in Western culture. 

Squinting – When people see what they don’t like, feel threatened, or are unhappy, they squint their eyes.

Arched Eyebrows – When we raise our eyebrows, it means we are contemplating what we’re listening to and that we’re mildly intrigued.

Direct Eye Contact – means we’re interested, we’re listening, and that we’re focused on you. It also conveys that we got nothing to hide.

Blinking too much – means we’re nervous or anxious

Hands the Church Steeple – fingertips touching, palms facing apart conveys we’re thinking and that we’re about to make a decision or move.

Arms Akimbo – planting your hands with your thumps backward on your hips and elbows out in a “V” shape displays dominance or authority.

Feet facing directly the other person – It shows that we’re focused on the other person.

Crossed feet (Standing or sitting) – When we cross our feet standing or sitting down, it shows that we’re comfortable or relaxed, but sometimes also defensive.

Leaning Forward – means you’re interested in the other person and want to hear more of what they say.

Tilting the head and smiling – means flirting or being playful

Mirroring – Mirroring someone’s body language means they’re interested in you and trying to build rapport.

Arms Crossed – reserved, uncomfortable or defensive. Or to display dominance or authority.

Hands on the hips – means they’re impatient or aggressive or tired

Planetary Chakra Meditation

Solar breath meditation. This is a technique that I like to use when I want to align my 7 energy points(chakras). Each point corresponds with a planet.

Crown – Sun

Third Eye – Moon

Throat – Mercury

Heart – Venus

Solar Plexus – Mars

Sacral – Jupiter

Root  – Saturn

Ok so first It helps to know the energetic properties of each planet which can be found here. I begin with Crown chakra and move down from the top  then back up.  On the exhale I will begin by saying to myself Sun (crown) and then focus my awareness to the corresponding section on my physical body.  I will make it through each energy point on one out breath. On the inhale I will say to myself Saturn (root) and again focus my awareness to the part of my physical body then work my way up to repeat the cycle. You may begin to feel a strong vibration in each energy point you direct focus to. Once you have completed as many cycles you feel comfortable doing, breathe at a natural rhythm and bring your focus to become aware of each energy point. Once you focus on all of the energy points you may feel a sense of being in a energetic sphere. You have reached what I like to call cosmic mode. It feels like your in space bubble. I have seen some interesting visions while practicing this method of alignment. This works for me and is very effective bringing me to the cosmic bubble fairly quickly once I sit and focus. I hope this has given you some ideas, play and learn with your energy!
