Book Select: Tim Leary’s “tripping manual” The Psychedelic Experience

Tim Leary’s interpretation of the Tibetan Book of the Dead as a “tripping manual”

I came across this book surfing the webs and thought it would be an interested read with applicable methods in it as well. If you have tried some of these methods or plan on in the future let us know how it goes!  This is a short section from the book breaking down three different phases of the psychedelic experience.

Following the Tibetan model then, we distinguish three phases of the psychedelic experience. The first period (Chikhai Bardo) is that of complete transcendence – beyond words, beyond space-time, beyond self. There are no visions, no sense of self, no thoughts. There are only pure awareness and ecstatic freedom from all game (and biological) involvements. [”Games” are behavioral sequences defined by roles, rules, rituals, goals, strategies, values, language, characteristic space-time locations and characteristic patterns of movement. Any behavior not having these nine features is non-game: this includes physiological reflexes, spontaneous play, and transcendent awareness.] The second lengthy period involves self, or external game reality (Chonyid Bardo) – in sharp exquisite clarity or in the form of hallucinations (karmic apparitions). The final period (Sidpa Bardo) involves the return to routine game reality and the self. For most persons the second (aesthetic or hallucinatory) stage is the longest. For the initiated the first stage of illumination lasts longer. For the unprepared, the heavy game players, those who anxiously cling to their egos, and for those who take the drug in a non-supportive setting, the struggle to regain reality begins early and usually lasts to the end of their session.

Meditations 001: Absolute Focus

[6.17 – 2 a.m] I began meditation with the basic routine i normally begin with. Focus on breathing –> Let the thoughts flow (verbally) –> Move past verbal thoughts then focus on visual thoughts—>Move past visual thoughts and focus on body sensations.  The main lesson of this meditation for me was absolute focus.  After I began the breath awareness focus the visions began to come in.

(eyes closed) The first quick image that appeared was a baby with angel wings sitting toward the right of me. Almost like a costume that a child would wear during halloween. I also had visions of a man dressed as a woman in a blue dress. That vision was weird lol and  I realized not focusing on/ looking directly at the vision seemed to increase the time it was present. I began to focus less on the visuals and more on the flow of energetic sensations from breathing. There is a swaying feeling that begins to occur when I control the flow of inhalation and exhalation. The next step I usually take is concentrating this swaying/energy on to one point.  I focused on directing the swaying/energy to my solar plexus.

“Absolute focus” was required in order to build the energy. By absolute focus I mean not allowing any distractions or thoughts to take away from the goal of concentrating the energy into one place, even if focusing it make you feel or experience something new remain focused on the primary objective not the results of  it.  The way i like to describe how the energy feels: At first  its like your receiving sensations that your body is swaying when it is still. It is possible that your physical body can begin swaying but by focusing it or concentrating it to a certain point (solar plexus , heart , pineal etc)  it feels like a charge begins to build and the swaying stabilizes. Where you direct this energy will determine what  you will experience next.

After I focused on my solar plexus the swaying began to stabilize and my breathing changed from deep to shallow. I always found that interesting I still don’t seem to have it figured out yet. There is a time to breathe consciously and a time to just let your body flow as it feels. I redirected my attention to my eyes and began breathing on my own again, specifically focusing on the darkness created when the eye lids are closed. The idea is to use your eyes the same way you would if they were open but when they are closed. The focal point as my eyes are closed seemed to be at a distance because when I refocused by accident it felt like I adjusted to look at something closer to me. I could feel what I think to be my pineal gland functioning.  From my experience it feels like a subtle pressure within your forehead. The visual cues for me is seeing light patterns/signals  in the dark (eyes closed). That is when I know the visuals are about to begin or that part of my brain is now beginning to work.

Once I focused in on breathing and cleared my other thoughts I began to see water. The pattern was the same as if you were watching water move in a pool and the light castes shadows on the floor of the pool in a weave like motion.

Seeing this made me smile. Even though I Identified what I was seeing as water or the reflection of water I tried to see if anything was “in” the water but it just seemed to be reflection. The sensation I felt on my skin/body was similar to being in water I also felt bigger and as if I were moving through water but the density of it was more subtle than water. There was a pulsing happening in my palms, my hands were folded fingers crossed. The pulsing felt as if it were magnetic. If you were to try to push two magnets together, the sensation I felt was similar to the repelling force without the magnets being present.  It felt like It was dark. My thoughts began to process everything to make sense of it. This led to being distracted and I started to wander off in thought instead of remaining in the moment with absolute focus. I realized I drifted from where I was and In attempt to regathering focus I started to think about visualizing a cube and it quickly appeared to my surprise very clearly. It was outlined by white and the rest was dark then formed into other shapes out of my control. At this point in the meditation about an hour or more had passed and my ability to hold a steady  focus was fading into a slow nod to sleep. 

It was a balance of staying focused on breathing and the sensation of energy but not allowing the effects of that process to create observational thoughts strong enough to be a distraction.  I posted an article on the energetic breakdown that helped explain some of what I experienced. These are the questions I walked away with

Questions 

  • How is a magnetic field created?

  • Direct connection between breathing and Qi/Energy.

 

 

Book Select: The Serpent Power

Finally  book that resonates with what I have been experiencing for the past year or so. This book details some good information on chakras, kundalini yoga and much more.

761025Do you have to memorize all the names and terms to gain the knowledge and experience .. no .. I still dont know half of the names of the yoga pose I practice.  Check out this book its a great read and informal on the metaphysical aspects of yoga.

Be Metaphysical: Sound & The Pineal Gland

I have had some interesting experience when It comes to using mantras and chants. This led me to doing some research in making sense of it all.  Water holds vibration and we (humans) are made up of over 70% water. Sound is vibration meaning our bodies are able to hold this vibration well using the water within.

A sound needs to be at a particular range of frequency so human ears can detect it. Generally, the range of detectable sounds is from 20 to 20,000 Hertz.  A sound that repeats itself at a particular speed/frequency is called a tone.

I have had experiences with feeling these vibrations as well as vivid mental visualizations of places that I never been physically.  This brought me to the question Is it possible to see sound.. if so how?

“The pineal gland is a superconducting resonator. Ananda [Bosman] claims it potentiates DNA as a multidimensional transducer of holographic projection.”

Superconductivity is a phenomenon of exactly zero electrical resistance and expulsion of magnetic fields occurring in certain materials when cooled below a characteristic critical temperature.

Resonator an apparatus that increases the resonance of a sound, especially a hollow part of a musical instrument.

Transducer a device that converts variations in a physical quantity, such as pressure or brightness, into an electrical signal, or vice versa.

 

So… The pineal gland has the ability to amplify sound and then create a holographic projection/image for the mind by converting sound into electrical signals similar to how your two eyes function.

“The first steps in this sensory process are the stimulation of light receptors in the eyes, conversion of the light stimuli or images into signals, and transmission of electrical signals containing the vision information from each eye to the brain through the optic nerves” -Eye Mechanics 

“Several researchers have also suggested that the pineal gland may prove to be more than just a hormone production gland, it may also contribute visual imagery to our visual cortex, a second visual platform. The pineal gland may be a third eye, but it is not a third eyeball. It has no lens, pupil or iris, but it does have a retina. The primary cell found within the structure of the pineal gland, the pinealocyte, is an evolutionary derivative of the photoreceptor cells found in the retina of the eye, so it is possible that the pineal gland is a receptive to some wave spectrum via crystalline particles found throughout the gland whose signal can then be converted into visual imagery via the pinealocytes”  – http://metatoninresearch.org/

While meditating I have noticed that the sensations I feel begin to change once I start to say a mantra to myself internally or externally (verbally out loud).

I asked myself why do the sensations change …. my conclusion was that “thought” is also vibration. When you think of something it actually carries a vibration similar to if you were to actually saying it aloud verbally. Knowing this, the next step would be to use a specific sound/vibration/mantra in order to achieve a certain tone resulting in tapping into a specific frequency bringing about a particular type of experience/feeling. Then going a step further by making this experience visual via pineal glands’ ability to create a holographic projection/vision through conversion of sound into electrical signal.

How does it feel or what will you see when you begin to hold or tap into a new or specific frequency?

Without knowing this information above logically. I once began meditating (focused on consciously breathing)  soon after I began seeing a very intricate pattern and through controlled breathing this pattern seemed to fly toward me and I began to see a new place… specifically a labyrinth of flowers.  Once The thought that I have been here done this .. came over me, I wanted to be in a new place. That instant I saw the pattern and I began to see a concert. There is more to this experience and I have detailed and told the story in the video below.

One important lesson I learned from that experience is once you reach a specific frequency the dimensional doors open for you to actually see and experience what is going on in that dimension/vibration. The door being the sacred geometry or thought patterns/ sound vibration/mantra. The key being your pineal gland, is used to turn the lock and convert the vibrations into vision. The breath being the foundation to your focus as well as the legs you use to walk through the door ways and experience what is beyond this physical realm.

Im sure there is more going on internally that I have not detailed but this is what I can share from my experience and research. Dig deeper and share what you have learned.

Side Note: The hormones created/secreted by the pineal gland may help with perceiving “visions” . One chemical/hormone that helps is DMT Dimethyltryptamine … Psilocybin is just one of many tryptamines that can be found throughout nature to assist with the process. Through specific environment conditions and breathing techniques DMT can and will be produced by the pineal naturally.

Lucid: Meditations

Things began to come into light vaguely like a lighter with a low flame slowly growing in the output of butane. It felt like I was following someone through a dark tunnel he was holding a dim light. I began to question where I was being led. Asking this question directly…my only respone was being told ”

Screen Shot 2014-08-08 at 1.20.58 PM I was told not to think.. Because here thoughts can be heard.”  This made me want to think more  but i cut that  current thought off short and continued on the right side behind the person guiding me.

We made it to the end of the tunnel with what seemed to be a few turns. We came to a surface with gloomy grey misty  light. What felt like we were elevated greatly above ground and a huge cylindrical  corridor connected the two towering structures. The vibe that lingered was suspicion due to the no thinking warning. It also felt like an escape of some sort. Me being the person being led out of where ever I was previously. Near the end of  the corridor a square cut out was lifted similar to a pothole in the street I was made to get in first. I went down into the dark tunnel similar to the previous one but my guide shut the door on me. I had a brief moment where i felt like did not know what to do. In addition to not wanting to think suddenly I hear 2 shots .. I thought my guide was shot initially.. Instantly on the tail end of a quick panic I  heard the same voice that said “dont think go this way”. I also felt like I suddenly knew what I where I was supposed to go. Soon after i appeared at the end of this tunnel that exited out from the side of a huge mountain highly elevated. I remember being told by the guides voice saying I was to fly to the east side of this mountain using the sun as my guide. Hesitant to jump I imitated a take off twice before jumping off. I also remember being told use your gear to fly. So I launched my self off of the side of the mountain beginning to fly. Looking down was a large body of water to my left connecting to a white sand like beach. Green white and blue were the main noticebale colors i picked up. The altitude I was flying at things at ground level were very tiny but the mountain was huge. I completed my decent to what seemed to be a opening similar to the exiting port in the side of the mountain. The decent was not completely to the ground level more so mid mountain. Still a very high entrance  in the mountain. … I opened my eyes after I landed, felt like I was being led somewhere w/out enough knowledge to what was going on. Plus I was in no thought stealth mode so not too much time to contemplate, only do.

Lessons I learned:
These mental places are only a thought away. Once the thought is lined up correctly the images will begin to flow. Concentration and the  Use of breathe to build up the energy within is key to seeing.  Deep breaths activate the pulsation. Find your center in the middle of what seems to be swaying sensations and gain control of the flow of energy. An interesting sensation came over me once i began holding the citrine. A blanket energy felt like a wave of slow moving water surging over me. With these sensations the two usual reactions it causes me to take is first make note of it then allow myself to go deeper within the sensation. I think thats enough unearthly knowledge for today

Be Metaphysical: Energy via Intimacy

Be Metaphysical: Lets talk about the best feeling in the world, you may think of  sex,  food, or anything that gives pleasure.  Either way while I was growing up  I think sex was what I taught the least about. Be safe and wrap it up was the only two ideas I could attach to the mystery of sex before I actually experienced it.

Now that I am older and wiser, I have jumped into the realm of meditation and energy work.  I have come to know that there is more to sex then reaching a climax only to explode with seconds of pleasure.   I think the best way to explain how this information helps is showing a before and after of knowing.

These are some of the physical changes that happened once I began learning more about this form of meditation and energy circulation.

Before Knowing Microcosmic Orbit :

Sex Duration 5 – 40 minutes

Once climax is reached ejaculation happens soon after.

Loss of sperm/Loss of energy

No more sex after 1st/2nd Ejaculation / Limpness

No Control of Breathing, Less connection with your partner

After Knowing Microcosmic Orbit:

Sex Duration : 45 min – 3 Hours

Once climax is reached ejaculation can be controlled. Meaning the energy wasted from normal routine of spilling sperm can be avoided.  Furthermore allowing you to continue having sex without loss of energy. The feeling of the orgasm is extended and in sync with your pattern of breathing. Orgasm/Energy can be sent and received to and from your partner via breathe as a channel to be in sync with each other on.

No/ (Small) Loss of Sperm / No (Small) Loss of Energy

You will have the feeling of orgasm without the actual physical ejaculation.  Physical ejaculation is the cause of limpness and stops you from circulating and building the energy via sex.

Conscious control of breath 60% – 100% of the time. Gaining control of breath during sex is one of the easiest paths to connecting with your partner.

Once you learn the microcosmic orbit and become familiar with feeling the energy flow you can explore deeper levels of intimacy. Practice and Learn about yourself and your partner. Meridian Channels and Qi

The Human Bodys’ Meridians or channels are  conduits through which Qi travels in the body.  These channels are used in acupuncture to treat illness. Although meridians work as a channel system which carries and distributes qi and blood, they are not blood vessels and have no anatomical channel structure.meridian-channels

Jing meridians act as the interior. Those which branch off horizontally are luo meridians. Jing means to pass through or pathway and refers to the vertical channels. Luo means network and refers to the networks that branch off from the vertical channels (Jing). Both Jing and Luo mean link or connection, and they are bound closely together to form channels.

By connecting and uniting different parts of our body, meridians provide the transport service for the fundamental substances of qi, blood, and body fluids. The flow of qi in the Meridian System concentrates or “injects” in certain areas of the skin’s surface. These areas are very small points, otherwise known as “acupuncture points”. Although acupuncture points are located externally and superficially, they can affect the internal functions of our body. There are 365 acupuncture points, and each point belongs to a particular meridian channel that connects to specific organs.

Qi can be gathered/collected through meditation, deep breathing techniques and practices like Qi- Gong or Pranayama in Indian culture.

Once you learn how to gather Qi and bring it in through your chakras you must learn how to direct the qi using thought. The qi will travel along these meridians so knowing the channels is important to knowing how direct the flow of qi to each organ.
