Chatohuchi Yoga

Screen shot 2014-03-25 at 12.12.10 PM
The name Chattahoochee is thought to come from a Muskogean word meaning “rocks-marked” (or “painted”), fromchato (“rock”) plus huchi (“marked”)

The vicinity of the Chattahoochee River was inhabited in prehistoric times by indigenous peoples since at least 1000 BC.  Among the historical nations, the Chattahoochee served as a dividing line between the Muscogee (Creek) (to the east) and the Cherokee territories (to the west) in the Southeast. The United States accomplished the removal of Native Americans, to extinguish their claims and make way for European-American settlement, through a series of treaties, land lotteries, and forced removals lasting from 1820 through 1832. The Muscogee were first removed from the southeastern side of the river, and then the Cherokee from the northwest.

The Bridge of Energy in Motion

Screen shot 2014-03-23 at 10.38.08 AM
The bridge .. There is not just one type of bridge. The type depends on the different ways to distribute the tension, bending and torsion throughout the structure.. Sometimes we must build are own bridge and distribute stress/get across pain, disappointment and grief in different ways each time. Be a builder!

Good Afternoon, Today feels refreshing.. Went to sleep reading The fifth mountain last night. There was a few things I learned but the one thing I remember was what he wrote of children. ” A child can teach an adult three things, to be happy for no reason, to always be busy with something and to know how to demand with all his might that which he desires.” I have the first two down pact the third ability requires me to really want whatever it is I’m lusting for then it happens! Is THC the key to get in y-our dreams?

Marijuana affects dreams. Stoners say they don’t have dreams but if they stop smoking for a few days, they are flooded with dreams. Is there any psychological research supporting this?”

I can vouch for this fact. Once I stop smoking its a lucid paradise for the first 5 nights ….. any longer than that I feel like i’m living more of a life in my dreams then I am in physical reality and that did become scary/draining for me. I did not want to go to sleep because I just knew I was in for a very intense adventure. Honestly this is one of the reason I decided to begin smoking weed again, I was overwhelmed at the very detailed memories I was bringing back from dream experiences. I was literally running from the police after a prison break for 2 days IN A DREAM … 2 full days in a dream,  I will tell that story later.

Sleep and wakefulness are both parts of a normal daily rhythm. Fish, cats, humans, and many other living things have daily cycles of activity and rest. This daily cycle is called a circadian rhythm. “Circadian” comes from the Latin root “circa dies” and means “about a day.” Both external and internal events can influence circadian rhythms. Morning light and alarm clocks trigger wakefulness. When isolated from normal time cues, the daily human cycle is about 24 hours, hence “circa dies.”

“Though sleep seems like a passive state to us, the brain is still very active. In fact, the EEG of a person falling asleep shows five stages of sleep: Stages 1 through 4 and a stage called rapid eye movement (REM) sleep. Each stage is progressively deeper and the complete cycle is repeated several times during the night. When awakened during REM sleep, subjects report dreaming. So if dreams take place during REM sleep, the question for us is: Does smoking marijuana interrupt REM sleep?”

“To address this question, Feinberg, et al. (1975) compared the sleep patterns of experienced marijuana users on tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) and a placebo. Feinberg, et al. (1975) reported reduced eye movement activity and less REM sleep in the THC condition. They also reported a REM rebound effect, that is more REM activity, on withdrawal from THC. So,there exists some scientific evidence that marijuana interferes with REM sleep.”

Could this be the way to induce dreaming/ REM activity … begin to take thc then go cold turkey?  Hmmmm

If sleep is fascinating, dreaming is even more so. No one knows for sure the meaning or function of night-time dreams, but there is plenty of speculation. Freud believed dreams represented the royal road to theunconscious. They told us our secret desires and fears.
